American pop singer Katy Perry holds Bushfire Relief Concert at Victorian Alpine town of Bright!

Katy Perry took to the stage performing her very own Bushfire Relief Concert on the 11th March 2020 in Bright, Victoria, to raise money for bushfire relief.

According to ABC News ‘The Alpine Shire recently estimated the summer bushfires and associated smoke had cost the local tourism industry $90 million, while Tourism North East estimated up to $208 million dollars would be lost across the entire region for the March 2020 quarter’.

The town of Bright hoped the Bushfire Relief Concert would raise funds for their town and were grateful Katy Perry help put regional Victoria back on the map for tourists.

Many local firefighters from the region and CFA crews travelled to enjoy the night with free tickets for all their hard work! We are thankful for all the persistent efforts of our brave firefighters who battled the recent bushfire season.

Katy Perry stated the town of Bright reminded her of hometown of Santa Barbara, California - where in 2017 and again last year bushfires occurred.

Katy Perry told ABC News ‘I don’t know if we’re all good on raising money, but [we want to be] about re-empowering, raising spirits, showing up physically, bringing the community together’
