Unusual Pre-Season Forest Fires raise concerns in Norway and Sweden

Authorities in Norway and Sweden are concerned that it might be another “Summer of Ashes” in their country this year due to the emergence of numerous pre-season forest fires already burning in Scandinavia.

Forest fires damaged over 25,000 hectares in Sweden following an extremely dry spring and the hottest July on record for 250 years.

However, both the MSB and the Swedish Interior Minister Mikael Damberg stated Sweden is "better prepared" than last year to face the forest fires.

Thermaguard wishes the Swedish fire fighting organisations good luck battling any wildfires or forest fires this season.
