What is the RCCF Grant?

The Regional Capability Community Fund (RCCF) is a South Australian Government program, administered through the CFS, that helps farmers, farming businesses and rural landholders improve their firefighting capability and safety. Round 5 of the fund opened on 15 August 2026 and closes on 18 September 2026 — so there's only a short window left to apply.

The fund is split into three streams, and applicants can only apply under one:

• Farm Fire Unit (FFU) — new units, up to $5,000 reimbursed
• Safety Equipment — heat shields, fire blankets, rotating amber beacons, fire-rated PPE, up to $1,000 reimbursed
• Other Equipment — hose, pumps, tanks, UHF/CB radios, up to $1,000 reimbursed

For anyone looking to add a fire blanket on their Farm Fire Unit, the Safety Equipment stream is the one that matters.

Who Can Apply

• Individual farmers, farming businesses or rural landholders in South Australia
• You need current FFU registration and evidence of it with your application
• You can't have received RCCF funding in the previous two rounds
• The equipment has to be an intended purchase, not something you've already bought — so get your quote sorted before you apply, not after

You need current FFU registration to apply. If you don't have one yet, you can register with the CFS for the purpose of applying — but if your application is unsuccessful, that registration is cancelled.

Can I apply if I already bought the equipment?

No. The RCCF only funds intended purchases, so you need your quote in hand before you apply, not a receipt for something you've already bought.

When does RCCF Round 5 close?

Applications close 18 September 2026. Successful applicants are notified by 26 October 2026, with a purchase window running through to 7 December 2026.
